I have to say that I am not used to long discussions about my work. My goal is for my work to do the talking for me.First of all, I have to admit that I love glass, that unique substance that is capable of being both content and form at the same time. Glass is my friend and sometimes also my merciless adversary, punishing even my slightest mistakes.
Born in Havlíčkův Brod, he now lives and works in Kamenický Šenov in the Czech Republic.
His career in glass art started by working with a glass cutter. From there, he went on to study at the School of Applied Arts in Kamenický Šenov. There, under the leadership of Prof. Vladimir Klein, he honed his glass artist skills and graduated in 1989. Since 1990 Vlastislav has been concentrating on creating his own optical glass sculptures. He has had many solo and group exhibitions across Europe and the USA.
Unsurprisingly, his work is highly sought after!

ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
It is very simple to talk about my work – I just love glass. I am not really looking for the quantity effects that the material offer. What I am trying to do is to discover is the inner origin and peculiar world of the glass. What about my themes? They come spontaneously. They are everywhere around as – relationship between people, nature, music … One has only to look and listen.
I will be totally happy if I manage to touch somebody with my work and bring my feelings and perceptions to the others through my glass objects.
