Jaroslav Prošek

An art lover since childhood Jaroslav Prošek  was born in 1986 in Beroun, Czech Republic. He was introduced to glass after leaving secondary school where he worked and mastered his skills at Marek Landa Art Chandelier Company. His penchant for the glass medium led him to continue his studies at the ateliers of Bohemian Crystal Masters Jan Frydrych and Vlastimil Beranek. His mentored influence by the two masters made him realise his fascination for the glass medium and its infinite prospects for creativity.

His relentless experimentation with materials such as optical glass, crystal glass, stainless steel, marble or wood and his fine post-conception of form and structure has placed him at the forefront of contemporary art in the Czech Republic and certainly beyond.

Since his professional career as an artist began in 2010, Prošek has been involved in a number of extraordinary art projects which have excited and inspired people round the globe. With a passion for creating unique sculptures, Prošek was selected as one of the best 100 artists of Europe by the Michael Angelo Foundation

Prošek is a passionate artist with the sea at heart. He uses several techniques to create his sculptures: from melting into moulds to grinding and engraving. Inspirations for his sculptures come from practically everything that touches his creative mind. Nature, in particular, the sea and the world of yachting are just a few. He landed the commission of creating the ‘Blue Ocean awards’ 2019 glass trophy as he has long been admired and sought after by yacht owners to adorn their super yachts.
